One cannot mention the urban Farmhouse without celebrating its menu, bursting with seasonal flavors and fresh ingredients. Customers rave about the Lox Bagels, praised by visitors like Garret, who traveled from Philadelphia specifically to savor this morning delight. The café also excels in providing wholesome vegan options, like their acclaimed avocado toast, which left a strong impression on Sean Callahan during his visit. This dish showcases the culinary creativity that defines the urban Farmhouse, turning simple ingredients into something extraordinary.
While the coffee is a standout—particularly the coffee toffee latte recommended by Slex—the café also offers refreshing beverages like traditional chai lattes and seasonal juices (though the juice bar was under maintenance during one visit). For those with dietary restrictions, as Shanah Bell discovered, the café provides gluten-free bread sourced from local suppliers, ensuring everyone can enjoy their meals worry-free.
One of the remarkable features of the urban Farmhouse market & café is its pet-friendly policy, welcoming well-behaved dogs. This thoughtful touch adds to the café's approachable atmosphere, where conversations flow as freely as the coffee. The enthusiastic team, led by owner Dale and manager Laura, is always on hand to ensure a memorable experience, sharing their passion for food and community with every guest.
From the delightful ambiance to the meticulous attention to sourcing and preparation, the urban Farmhouse market & café is more than just a place to grab a meal; it's an experience that leaves you wanting to return time and again. “ We came from Philly for a convention and my partner and I loved coming here each morning to grab some food and coffee before the busy day! The workers are very nice and I loved my Lox Bagels! ”
“ Really cute, cozy and relaxed atmosphere with a decent amount of seating. There are only about 4 tables that have outlet access though! The coffee toffee latte was excellent, but to be honest the oatmeal was absolutely not worth it. ”
“ We happened upon this gem of a restaurant by searching the Bring Fido app. They allow dogs inside the restaurant as long as they are well behaved. They have gluten free bread that's local, for those of us with Celiac. They source what they can locally, which was an awesome find. We split 2 different sandwiches and 2 sides. Both were phenomenal and I loved their fall slaw! The juice bar was out of commission while we were there, so I good a Chai latte instead. It was very good. An overall phenomenal experience and I would happily go back again if we were staying in the area longer. ”
“ Visiting Richmond for government business and found this great coffee shop that hit all my goals: Dale, owner - hard at work at his shop Laura, manager, runs a great shop with verve and personality. Highly recommended! ”
“ Located in old town Richmond this cafe and coffee shop provides an open and bright atmosphere that includes a lot of local business people, people on laptops working and a general flow of people at all ages. Came in with a group of 4 people and had coffee, tea and food. I got the avocado toast which was awesome and my co-worker got a panini sandwich which they also liked very much. While there large open door windows were opened and made for a great spring day. Chai tea was great and so was the coffee although one person had blackberry soda which they also enjoyed. Nice place to relax, eat and get some work done. I will be back and had a great experience. Recommend this as a nice place to visit when in downtown Richmond Virginia. ”
“ We recently stopped here on our trip from Florida to New York. We wanted a place where we could sit with our dog. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Our breakfast sandwich's were delicious. Service was super fast. I highly recommend a stop here if you're in the area ”
“ This restaurant has something for everyone! Both healthy and indulgent items, and everything is made with very high quality ingredients. Additionally, it’s a great atmosphere for a sit down meal. Not too loud, and very inviting. ”
“ Very quaint little shop with delicious coffee and chocolate croissants! ”
